Causes of Hard-flaccid Syndrome

  • Traumatic events, such as penile device use, rough intercourse, or excessive penis stretching.
  • Injuries to the penis base affecting nerves and blood vessels supplying the penis and pelvic floor muscles.
  • Emotional distress inducing pelvic floor muscle contractions.
  • Sustained muscle contractions compressing nearby nerves and vessels, resulting in sensory changes and pelvic tension.
  • Continuous muscle contraction affecting penile venous structures, leading to semi-erectness during flaccidity.

Diagnostic Challenges

Hard-flaccid Syndrome, though not officially acknowledged as a medical condition, refers to a group of symptoms often discussed on online platforms. Limited information in medical literature hampers its understanding and definition.

Symptoms similar to those of Hard-flaccid syndrome often appear in people affected by CPPS or Chronic Nonbacterial Prostatitis. Diagnosing and treating these health issues effectively is quite a challenge. Plus, it’s harder for men to find specialized care as many therapists focus on women’s pelvic health. But at PHRC in Columbus, we’re different. We are skilled in treating men with pelvic conditions, and there are times when we assist more men than women.

How We Can Help You

If you’re a man struggling with Hard-flaccid Syndrome, it could be really helpful to see a pelvic floor therapist who focuses on pelvic pain in Columbus.
