On Saturday July 25th 2020 at 11:00 am PST, the Pelvic Health and Rehabilitation Center is hosting a virtual fundraiser via Zoom combining two things we care deeply about: pelvic health and racial justice.  Doctor of Physical Therapy and yoga instructor Karah Charette of PHRC Berkeley will be teaching a 60 minute movement workshop entitled “Movement for the Movement: Pelvic Floor Release and Fundraising”. The focus of this workshop will be to have an embodied understanding of what the pelvic floor is, how to relax it, and how to connect the pelvic floor with stress management and the calming of the nervous system. Inspired by restorative yoga, this will be a gentle class with guided breathing, stretching, visualization, and meditation. During this difficult time, we could all use a more mindful check in with our bodies, allow ourselves to explore where we might be holding tension, and learn how to begin the work of releasing that tension.

This workshop is accessible to any and everybody as it will be a gentle and slow paced class with modifications offered. Come with a yoga mat and an open mind. This is a donation based class with a suggested minimum donation of $10. All proceeds will be donated to which is an organization focused on women of color’s reproductive justice. All donations made by you are going to be matched by the Pelvic Health and Rehabilitation Center. Sistersong defines reproductive justice as a human right and focuses on access, comprehensive sex education, adequate prenatal and pregnancy care, domestic violence assistance, and so much more. As pelvic health specialists, the team at the Pelvic Health and Rehabilitation Center recognizes that racism is a public health issue and it directly affects the population we work with. We would like to show our support financially by investing in organizations that work to create awareness and equality when it comes to women of color’s health. We are passionate about pelvic health and want to use our skills to help the cause.  Please consider donating and joining our Movement for the Movement! You can register via this link. Space is limited so we encourage you to register now. Stay safe and we hope to see you there!
